Intel Labs Europe (ILE) adopts NQI Orchestra to manage its research and development projects

Intel Labs Europe (ILE) is a network of Research & Development, Product, and Innovation Labs spanning the European region as well as a variety of Intel business units. ILE was formally established in early 2009 as a central means of coordinating activities across Intel’s diverse network of labs and to further strengthen Intel’s commitment to and alignment with European R&D. In addition to driving key technology innovations for Intel, ILE works closely with academic, industry, and government institutions to advance innovations and strengthen Europe’s technology leadership in the global community.

Intel Labs Europe wanted to improve the management of its R & D projects. They wanted a tool that would allow them to manage and track a diverse range of research and development projects running across various sites and countries in Europe. It was essential for them to have a global and real time view despite geographical and cultural constraints. The group therefore wanted to implement a collaborative project management tool that met their requirements with the highest industry standards for quality, safety and durability.

Therefore, in July 2015 Intel Wireless Labs Europe opted for the PPM solution NQI Orchestra in SaaS mode. SaaS or Software as a Service is a software deployment model that allows NQI to offer its customers on demand and easy deployment of NQI Orchestra.

Adopting NQI Orchestra gave Intel the ability to plan R&D projects across different teams based all over Europe. It improved the management of projects, from demand management to project implementation, monitoring and its final closing while at the same time adapting to the methods or procedures already in place. This proves NQI Orchestras’ ability to adapt to existing policies, procedures and methodologies already in place in a company. It provided them a consolidated view of the progress of deliverables in terms of time and quality. It also allowed them to trace and update information as well as manage the various project related documentations. Finally, the solution also enabled the group to create alerts and manage conflicts regarding the availability of resources which allowed them to arbitrate projects without any bias.
